Microwave Pralines

Makes about 5 doz.

3/4 cup buttermilk
2 cups sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2 cups pecan halves
2 TBS. butter
1 tsp baking soda

Stir together all ingredients except baking soda in a 4 or 5 quart bowl.
Cook on high power for 12 minutes, stirring every 4 minutes with a wooden spoon.
Stir in baking soda until foamy. Cook on high power for 1 more minute to
give pralines a caramel color. Beat until tacky about 1 minute. Drop by
teaspoonfuls on buttered foil, (work quickly).
